Welcome to the Trail

The trail is an interesting group idea I was playing with and decided to make, though is may or may not the  notice I hope it achieves.

So what is the trail?

The trail is a year long event, where anyone can join at any time, (as long as you complete six completely finish images). When does it open, start, and end? Well it is open NOW 4/15/2015, and will end 4/15/2016. There are NO monthly deadlines, no penalties, and no one gets kicked out.  

What is the goal?

Simple: pick a rider, (who may or may not be based on yourself), or a character that is already a part of your stables. Then pick a horse, it may be new or old, foal or adult, a real breed or a fake breed, dead or alive, inactive or active. It is your job to draw these two characters experiencing the seemingly endless trail, (with weather and setting conditions changing every month). Note: you can not lease these characters, they must be your own.

What are the rules>

As long as you draw a minimum of six images in the following year, you've completed the Trail! But what about artistic limitations? There. Are. None. You may use colored pencils, pens, photo shop, photo-manipulations, realism, paints sculpts or custom stuffed animals, and literature. Any medium is allowed, as long as YOU'RE the one who made the image and it is of your horse and rider on the trail with the appropriate conditions of that month.

How do I start?

1. Make a personal journal on your account titled, 'My Trail 2015'. This is the journal where you will keep track of all your trail related images. Here is mine: fav.me/d8ps10t
2. Pick your rider and horse, and link their references into your journal.
3. Draw them together, any way you'd like, (must be a brand new image)! It does not have to be an 'arrival' at the Trail or an 'invitation', but it should be an introduction. You will not only link this image, (and possibly story description?), into your trail journal, but you will submit it to the group folder, 'Enter the Trail'.
4. Last but not least, make an advertisement journal or poll talking about this group! Add this to your trail journal. I did one here: fav.me/d8ps0x7
5. You are now ready to send the group an invite request to join, linking your personal trail journal.

It'll be a full year before prizes are given away and for now I'd simply like everyone to get into the swing of their characters and how they will develop them on their trail, but if you'd like to donate something towards the group, please note us!

Note: You MAY do as many images as you'd like for your characters and story to develop. Simply submit all images to the correct monthly folder, and keep in mind of the setting and weather of the Trail by double checking the groups main page!
