WHAT IS THE TRAIL?
The trail is a one year event, which focuses on your development as an artist. Anyone can join at any time.
To participate you pick a team of horse and rider and create art to the monthly themes.
It does not matter if it is a traditional or digital work, fullbody or headshot, with or without background.
All that matters is the story you want to tell with the picture and the goals you want to reach in your skills and understanding.
HOW DO I JOIN?
Please create a journal for your trail and send the link along with your request.
This journal should contain the reference sheets for horse and rider, ideally a short description of both and your future images for The Trail.
An advertisement journal is no longer necessary.
This is a good example
HOW DOES IT WORK?
Every month a new theme will be released. You create a matching artwork of your team.
As long as you create 6 artworks until the end of The Trail (no matter when or which themes you choose), you will complete it successfully and be eligible for the prices. Those who finish the artworks in a given timespan (4 weeks most often) will qualify for little monthly prices. We are still working this out – been thinking of headshot paintings or features.
You can submit as many pictures as you want for one theme, but only one counts. (So you have to draw at least 6 themes for a successful Trail). Please mark the picture for the monthly contest.
Submit to the monthly galleries until the deadline ends, if you want to qualify for the monthly prices. When the gallery is closed after 4 weeks, you can always submit your artwork to the general gallery.
Always provide short information about your reference >more information
Read and follow our >guidelines regarding referencing, tracing and smudging.
Please mention the monthly theme in your description
The theme must be recognizable. A “rainy day” should at least have some puddle in it.
Do not reuse old artworks. This group is for your development as an artist.
